Home Remedies for Peptic Ulcer

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Peptic ulcer is one of the most common problems faced by people all over the world, and there is no specific age or gender which is affected more by ulcers. They can happen to anyone and everyone. However, the causes of course can be different with each person. In the recent times, one main cause that researchers have found out for peptic ulcers is faulty eating problems. The ulcers can be basically of two types - duodenal ulcer, which is located inside the duodenum, and gastric ulcer which is located inside the stomach. Together, both of them are known as peptic ulcer.

A person suffering from peptic ulcer suffers from a lot of pain in the abdomen, especially the upper part of the abdomen. There is a lot of discomfort, and the person might have a hard time concentrating on anything else. If the problem is ignored for a long time, the problem increases and can cause a lot of other complicated situations, such as bleeding in the stools, weakness in the body, fatigue, insomnia, and a lot of mental pressure as well.

You can go to a doctor and get your problem sorted with the help of some over the counter medicines prescribed by the doctor. But at the same time, you can also make use of some home remedies to help gain relief. These home remedies, unlike the other medicines are cheap, and of course free of side effects. Till the time you do not find a good doctor, these home remedies can act as a safe treatment for your problem of peptic ulcer.

You can drink fresh juices of carrots and cabbage to ease the pain caused by peptic ulcer, which also helps to treat the problem effectively. Additionally, you can add beet, cucumber or spinach to the juices.

Then you can also consume almond milk for relief. It is said that almond milk provides the stomach with a lot of protein, which is useful in curing the problem of peptic ulcer. Alternately, you can take goat's milk, 2-3 times daily.

The diet of a person suffering from peptic ulcer should include a lot of consumption of milk, fresh fruits and vegetables and butter. Additionally, lime juice can be added to some foods in little amounts for relief. Lime juice helps in better digestion and helps to cure the problem faster.

Banana and wood apple again are very important. Banana basically acts by neutralising the acids and is said to be a boon for curing the irritation caused by peptic ulcers. Wood Apple seeds on the other hand can be soaked in the water overnight, and the same water can be strained the next morning to be consumed as a drink, which is useful for curing the diseases.

Of course, if these home remedies do not show effective results in sometime, then you should consult a doctor. Also, make it a point to consult a doctor as soon as you notice that the problem is becoming complicated. The more you delay the treatment, the worse the situation can become.
