Joint pain is a very common problem among elderly people, and there are many people all over the world who suffer from this. Usually, it happens with those who are suffering from arthritis. Arthritis is basically the inflammation of the joints, and it can be caused because of some injury, infection, or even normal wear and tear which reaches its saturation point as a person starts to age. Joint pain is basically a by-product of arthritis.

In other cases, there are several other causes as well for joint pain, which can include things such as weather change, consumption of faulty diets, excessive strain or stress on the joints, hereditary factors, problems in the nervous system, some hormonal changes etc. It is believed that people who are extremely obese and overweight too can suffer from joint pain.

Depending on what the exact cause of the pain is, and keeping in mind whether the person is suffering from any other kind of disease or illness or not, a doctor prescribes some tests, as well as over the counter medicines for treatment. X-rays might be suggested to check if the joint pain has been cause because of some injury, and blood tests may be suggested to check deficiencies in the body etc. However, in all cases, there are certain herbal remedies that can be followed to ease the pain and get some comfort and relief.

First and foremost, it is advisable that a person bathes only in warm water, and does not sit in cold environments for long hours. Sitting in the AC for too long can cause the joints to become stiff, which can increase the pain and cause a lot of problems. The same can happen when a person bathes with extremely cold water. Therefore, it is best to bathe in warm water as it helps in gaining relief and soothes the pain.

Next, tea made out of papaya seeds is good for getting relief and curing joint problems. One must drink this tea for about five or six times daily, at least till 2 or 3 weeks in order to get good results. Simultaneously, one can also go in for massages. Massaging the affected area not only gives comfort, but also acts like a treatment to strengthen the bones and muscles and get rid of the pain. Sometimes, there are chances that the doctor might just advise you to go in for professional physiotherapy, depending on how severe your joint pain case may be.

Also, you must ensure that you are following a perfectly healthy and balanced diet till the time your problem does not get solved. Avoid eating sour foods, and also restrict your consumption of meat and fish. For those who are overweight, you must include more of salads and fresh fruits in your diet, which will not only help in the recovery of your joints, but will also aid in weight loss. Bananas and carrot juice should be consumed as much as possible, as they help in getting rid of the pain.
